Last month I spent a couple of weeks touring Tasmania with my son Mitch on a dedicated photography road trip. We explored the magical North West, chasing fagus, forests, falls, and coffee! More on that in an upcoming blog.
Afterwards, I spent a few days in Melbourne with Mitch, who had his first wedding shoot. He had asked me a while back if I would be keen to assist, to be the 'second shooter'. Of course I would be—although the idea of shooting a wedding still makes me nervous!
On Sunday 2 May 2021 we had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Mimi and Ash at The Riverstone Estate in the Yarra Valley. This was Mitch's first wedding. He'd done a lot of preparation, and we'd discussed and reviewed the run sheet for the day many times. Although both nervous, we were also pretty excited to be tackling this together!
It was a wonderful, clear autumn afternoon. Mimi and Ash's wedding had a casual, relaxed feel, with so much love. Their vows were something special. It was an honour to be able to share in their special day—and to be there assisting Mitch.
Here's a few of my pics from the day.
